Wildflower

I am a wildflower
growing where I please,
dancing my broken petals
to the rhythm of the breeze.

I am a wildflower
without a worry or a care
thriving on my own,
friends around me everywhere.

I am a wildflower,
I drink from rain, not hoses.
I am understood by those who see
past the daisies and the roses.

I am a wildflower.
I am simple. I am plain.
I am content with who I am
for reasons I cannot explain.

I pity the perfect rose
with her beauty and her power
for she'll never know the peace within
a random wildflower.
